Housing Navigator

Permanent Full-time role - Wellington Region

About the role:

Reporting to the Navigation Team Leader, this role deals with our whanau under the Navigation, Sustainable Tenancy and Hutt City Council Homelessness Program. Your aim is to support them through the process of obtaining and maintaining long-term sustainable housing. Responsibilities include:

  • Field phone calls, queries and referrals about Emergency Housing in a timely manner.  

  • Receive, manage and process WINZ referrals.  

  • Manage the referral tracker and update whanau status.  

  • Help facilitate whanau to connect with Social Housing and agencies and help with housing applications. 

  • Identify appropriate permanent housing options for whanau and other housing opportunities.  

To be successful in this role you need the following: 

  • Communicate effectively

  • Work well under pressure

  • Are planned and organised with a high attention to detail

  • Will build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of people

  • Have knowledge/awareness of different cultures

  • Hold a minimum of a Full NZ Drivers License
