Tuatahi provides transitional housing for whanau and individuals, for up to 12 weeks in our houses throughout the Wellington and Central region.
We receive referrals via the following:
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD)
Local community groups
By self-referral (contacting or visiting us in person), and
Other Non-government Organisations or Social Services Providers
Personal Upskilling
Whilst being in one of our community homes, each person is encouraged to engage in personal up-skilling. This is a critical part of their individual plans.
This may include:
Parenting classes
Budgeting
Counselling
Anger management
Numeracy and literacy
Computer classes,
Training
Finding employment
Post-Placement and Ongoing Support
Once they are placed into sustainable housing, our amazing support workers will continue to work alongside them to ensure the success of that whanau or individual.
